I learned to develop three key areas through Affiliate Classroom:

When I joined AC I started with the Step-by-Step training and very soon mapped out the following - focus: affiliate marketing; personal strengths: research, writing and coaching; and internet profile: affiliate marketing coach. One never knows where our endeavors will lead - persistence often pays off in ways we least expect.

I recently discovered Squidoo - a Web 2.0 technology, which builds on the best of other social bookmarking sites like YouTube, MySpace and Flickr. I had been primed to recognize this opportunity because I had read articles about the power of Web 2.0 and social bookmarking in the Affiliate Classroom Magazine. So I created a series of Squidoo lenses (websites), joined a Squidoo Masterclass and started refocusing my affiliate marketing coach endeavors. My focus is now on coaching people to use Squidoo for affiliate Marketing - a sub-niche that I have been seeking for a long period.

My Squidoo lens - affiliate marketing coach - is in the top ten listings of Google for this search term. I have created multiple linkages with my blog of the same name. I have also discovered a way to categorize my Blogger.com postings via Squidoo. My Squidoo marketing strategies lens is ranking number 1 in Google out of 968,000 searches for the term, "squidoo marketing strategies". 9 out of the top 20 entries for that term link back to my Squidoo lens, my articles, my affiliate marketing coach blog or my ebook sales site. Yes, I have now written another ebook that I sell for $7.

Affiliate Classroom encourages members to create their own information products, so I saw this emerging area as a real opportunity to do this.

My ebook, "Squidoo Marketing Strategies", is less than a month old. Another Affiliate Classroom fringe benefit for me was that I came across a post in the Forum from an expert Affiliate Marketer that had a lot of detail and instructions on Affiliate Marketing. I wrote to her and asked her to review my ebook and she very generously did so. She told me it was "excellent" and that she would recommend it to her list.

This was a great boost for me coming as it was from a very accomplished writer and Internet marketer who has recognized the marketing power of Squidoo. Squidoo is now enabling me to integrate all that I have done in affiliate marketing over the past three years. I receive daily subscriptions to my free email course on Squidoo and sales of my ebook are occurring daily. I know that the number of searches for "Squidoo marketing strategies" is increasing daily as people discover Squidoo, so I am in a good place marketing-wise.

I have done all of this part-time while I worked full-time in my HR consulting business. I can attribute a lot of my success to the resources, modeling and encouragement of Affiliate Classroom. I had been struggling along in Affiliate Marketing for over a year before I discovered the Affiliate Classroom. I thought the $1.00 trial membership was too good to pass up, so I signed up.

When I got into the classroom I was really overwhelmed. There were so many free books in the library (some of which I had purchased before for outrageous prices). It was really great to see so much information available to me, even if it would take me a few days to get through it.

I got busy reading and learning, and then started working on my web sites, forgetting all about the Step-by-Step program. When sales of my book started to decline, I decided I would put myself into the step program, and see what happened.

I went pretty quickly through the first steps, since I already had a product, and a domain name, but when I got to Step 7 on "How to Build a Web Site" I found out that I was missing quite a few things on my site that I never thought of before. Hey, I just wanted to shoot a quick note of thanks for creating Affiliate Classroom - It has been a godsend. It marked a pivotal point in my affiliate marketing business.
